Fiber Exchange - Q1
Fiber Exchange - Q1 (only open to US at this time)
The Fiber Exchange is part yarn swap, part pen pal, and part delightful surprise. Each season, you’ll be matched with another maker to exchange a bundle of yarn, a handwritten note, and a little creative joy.
This isn’t a swap for perfectionists. It’s for people who love fiber, enjoy a bit of surprise, and want to feel connected to another knitter or crocheter somewhere out there. There’s no pressure to send anything fancy—just something thoughtful and shared in the spirit of making.
Schedule:
January 15 - Sign Ups Open
January 30 - Sign Ups Close
February 1-10 - Partner Matching (all emails will be sent by February 10th)
March 15 - Last day to ship packages
1. Join the Exchange
Sign up for the Fiber Exchange and fill out a short profile with your preferences. This helps us make thoughtful pairings and keeps things fun for everyone.
2. Get Matched
Once per season, you’ll be paired with another maker in the collective. We do the matching for you—no awkward organizing or guessing—based on shared interests and craft type. You'll receive an email with your partners contact information and from there you two will get in touch! This is a great time to talk about allergies, yarn preferences, etc.
3. Send a Little Fiber Joy
You’ll mail 100g of yarn/fiber along with a handwritten note to your match. It doesn’t need to be fancy or expensive—just something chosen with care. We would like to see a cap of about $40 put into these. Keep it small and thoughtful.
4. Receive a Surprise
Around the same time, a package of yarn and a note will arrive in your mailbox from your exchange partner. Open it, enjoy it, and let the creative inspiration flow.
5. Repeat Next Season
Each season brings a new pairing and a new chance to connect. Participate once, or stay subscribed and make it part of your creative rhythm.
