Twin Rib Hat

Twin Rib Hat

A timeless ribbed beanie with thoughtful details

The Twin Rib Hat is one of those patterns that looks simple at first glance—but becomes a favorite the moment it’s on your needles.

Designed with a deeply comfortable fit and clean, classic texture, this hat features a paired rib structure that creates beautiful vertical definition without feeling tight or restrictive. It’s polished enough for everyday wear and relaxing enough to knit again and again.

Whether you’re making your first hat or your tenth, this pattern is meant to be approachable, rhythmic, and satisfying.

Why You’ll Love the Twin Rib Hat

  • Stretchy, comfortable ribbing that holds its shape

  • Clean transitions for a professional finish

  • Easy-to-memorize repeat—perfect for travel knitting

  • Works beautifully in solids, heathers, or subtle hand-dyed yarns

This is a great “mindful knit” project—engaging enough to stay interesting, but simple enough to relax into.

Construction Overview

The Twin Rib Hat is worked in the round from the brim up, beginning with a stretchy cast on and transitioning seamlessly into the paired rib pattern.

The crown shaping maintains the rib alignment for a cohesive look from edge to edge.

Tip: This hat is an excellent project for learning to “read” your knitting and maintain rib patterns through decreases.
